Darn literal episode-namers!!! “It’s All Relative”, some guy with a "Relativity Field" spell card…

Eisenstein? Eizenstein? Isenstein? Izenstein? Whatever. Just remember, for future reference, since the spelling doesn’t show it, it’s “steen”, not “styn”.

Something light and fluffy to follow Friday’s episode…of course…

The Hermit = Isenstein, Sartorius said. I’ll look that up when I get a chance, but I’ll be lucky if I get a chance to post this before the next one shows, I’ve let it go so long, let alone look anything up. Tomorrow, promise.
The High Priestess, the Heirophant, Justice, and The World were the four I thought best represented Bastion like the Hanged Man represented Chazz. Goes to show.

Good, Sy’s okay. He had me worried; dueling with those cuffs did something really serious to his brother, and, let’s face it, I was expecting Sy to be bedridden for a time at the least and fighting the shadows for his mind at the worst.
But Zane disappeared into the brush again; why? Was Sy actually getting through at all? Did he want to walk away before anyone got through to him any further? I can understand him not sticking around, to show that he didn’t care one bit if he had just seriously injured his little brother, but why vanish any longer than that, if not because he wants to remain separate from people? Since he said himself that he delights in inflicting pain, why hide from victims?

The future of scientific dueling. Scientific dueling. That’s an interesting term.

Another duel blazer on the Relativity Field card; these wacky card-designers…

Schroedinger’s Cat: Okay, the way I understand it, and I’m not sure I do, is that this guy, a scientist named Schroedinger, penned an experiment that could be performed such that a cat would be simultaneously both alive and dead. I believe the experiment had to do with shutting the cat in some sort of radioactive contraption. If you open it to check and see how the cat’s doing, the cat will die. If you leave it alone, then in theory the cat will remain alive, but there’s no way to check except to kill it by opening the contraption. Hence, the cat is both dead and alive.

The Jadenism got said again: “The duel’s not over until the last card’s played!”

Handy exit line for the two anon Slifers; I didn’t notice anyone *else* having trouble breathing…

“Jaden, remember- luck does not exist!!” Somebody’s got some issues on this if you ask *me*. I haven’t heard of physics being markedly devoid of luck, any more than any other science, but then I’m not taking physics until next year.

The three essential elements of dueling. For a second, I thought Jaden was going to say something to the effect of, “heart, faith, and guts”, and Isenstein was going to counter that it was (to this effect) “strategy, composure, and power”.

Hang on…huh? I think a lot of moves there were meant to be confusing, or maybe it’s just how he explained the cards’ effects, but that duel wasn’t exactly the easiest to follow.

Hero Dice = Roulette Spider, in terms of effect. Okay. One of the chanciest moves in the game, everyone called it. But then, in particular contrast to his opponent, Jaden played plenty of games of chance in this duel.

That’s Double Spell!!! Right there, in Isenstein’s hand, near the end!

Why does Prince Ojin want Sartorius to get the keys back? Why is he helping him? So he can redeem himself and save his own skin by winning his country’s satellite back, perhaps? But why can’t he challenge Sartorius *now* and *then* get the entire satellite back from Jaden and Aster? That’s a big gamble to take that he’ll win after Sartorius has the entire satellite to bet, though I suppose Ojin wouldn’t know about that.

Bastion’s kinda gone ‘round the twist…I haven’t seen him acting this utterly bizarre since Tanya…No, that was worse than Tanya… I’m not really sure whether to laugh or groan, the poor sap.
Even when they get him back, this duel seems to have proven that the way he’s dedicated himself to isn’t exactly working. Can he find a way to bring spirit to mathematical dueling, or will he have to choose between scientific dueling and professional dueling?

Okay, tomorrow’s episode is The Dark Light (what an incredible oxymoron) and Wednesday (Valentine’s Day) is Ultimate Destiny. From peeking ahead in the listings to make sure that Ultimate Destiny isn’t a multi-parter and they forgot to name it as such or something, I think something major’s going to happen involving Aster over the next few weeks. These literal episode-namers… ‘Til tomorrow afternoon (it’s late, and I should be asleep…), that’s game, folks! -Clio
