Another episode that was so bad, it was good. I won’t have as much to write on this one, because I pretty much covered it yesterday.
So there’s a class on Fusion? Good to keep in mind. Also note that the penalty for theft is expulsion…
I think that Dimitri’s copycatting got steadily worse when he started losing his cool. Only in the most extreme of the extreme situations does Yugi show such weakness. Parts of his performance were kind of like Yugi, but he really hammed it up far too much. Not only that, but you could see that Dimitri was far more serious than Yugi normally is; I noticed that where Yugi would have been enjoying himself, Dimitri really, really wasn’t. So many Duel Academy students fail to appreciate good sportsmanship and enjoyment of dueling, but it remains a consistent rule of life that those who are best at something are the ones who love it the most, and vice versa. That was one major piece that Dimitri was missing; Yugi, both of them, loves dueling for its own sake. Even before Duelist Kingdom, Yugi, Joey, Tristan, and Téa sat around during school breaks and had duels (only time Joey ever lost or ever will lose to Téa…). I can’t remember what episode it was, but I want to say Steppin’ Out, where Téa observed that what Yami really enjoys more than anything else is dueling. This, I believe, is why Dimitri has such a disgustingly horrible impersonation of Jaden; Jaden’s all about dueling—without a real love of the game, there’s not much to really impersonate about Jaden.
Jaden says Yugi is his idol. That fits.
How did Dimitri know about Winged Kuriboh?! Yugi’s never played it before, that we know of, in a duel. Moreover, how did he know that it used to be Yugi’s Winged Kuriboh? There are plenty of Kuribohs out there.
The whole school was sneaking into the display room. Lol.
Not being able to tell the difference between fiction and reality is a major warning sign that someone’s gone off the deep end. Perhaps Dimitri should see the school nurse. Or the D.A.S, come to think of it…
Think that’s about all for now. Ah, yes, for anyone who’s interested, I started writing a GX fanfiction during the lack of episodes. I always write what might happen next, so I always stop writing when what actually happens next rolls around. It’s completely unfinished, but if anyone’s interested I wouldn’t mind sharing it. In other news, my quiz on Duelist Kingdom and the time between Duelist Kingdom and Battle City is almost ready. For anyone who’s interested, brush up and be warned: I know Duelist Kingdom pretty much back-to-front and am absolutely ruthless in writing this. I believe that’s all of the off-topic stuff, the episode next Monday is The Maiden in Love, but I will next be writing on the episode tomorrow morning (oh, I can’t *wait!!!*), The Making of a Magician. Not to be confused with Yugi vs. Arkana from first round Battle City, we’re talking Mahad vs. Bakura! Oh, I can’t wait! Yippee! -Clio |
