Fireworks light up the morning sky;
Duelists gather here from everywhere;
Fans wait anxiously, intent to spy
A mythic duel to shake the very air!
Some contenders come just for the chance
At glory, others for the test of will.
Some for friends, relations, some romance!
And some for even nobler causes still.
Who will leave in shame, who will prevail?
What will they learn, what do they yearn to claim?
For though it’s true some triumph, some must fail,
The real joy is how you play the game.
Prepare with skill and heart, prepare to play

Background:

It's something of a tradition in Yu-Gi-Oh! tournaments (with the notable exception of the Gx Tournament) that they begin with daylight fireworks. Pegasus even announces at the start of Duelist Kingdom: "You have one hour to prepare both your cards and yourselves. When the skies light up with fireworks, the duels will begin!"
