(Previously <<1:47>>)

(Opening)

ACT 1 <<2:47>>

(Gjallarhorn's hornblower stands atop Thor's mighty shoulder, blaring his alarm. The horn has three successively larger lights on its side.)
Halldor: Sorry, Yusei, but due to Gjallarhorn, your Wave Rebound won't be making *any* waves at all!
(Yusei's trap card shatters. He grits his teeth; this is bad.)
Halldor: You see, Gjallarhorn puts a stop to any effect that prevents the revival of my Nordic Gods; but there's more! At the end of my third turn, all the monsters I have on the field are *removed from play*, and *you* get hit with the total of their attack points!
Yusei: No *way*!

Bruno: That means, at the end phase of *every turn*, those three Nordic Gods will return to the battlefield! This Gjallarhorn really *does* sound the alarm for Yusei.
Jack: Especially if you add up the attack points of those three gods. Yusei could be taking over *ten thousand points* as direct damage!
Crow: Unh?! This is *just awful*!! Yusei just went from the guy to beat to the guy *getting* beat!
Akiza: No joke.

Akiza (VO): Just look...
Halldor: Now then, since Thor has returned, you take eight *hundred* points of damage!
(Yusei's lifepoints get zapped down to 1200.)
Yusei: Gggghh-yaaahh-aaaggghh!
Halldor: And since Loki has returned, I can now add *one trap card* in my graveyard to my hand. And the card I'll be selecting is-- the trap "Odin's Eye"! You know what that means!
(The sun begins to shine through the clouds above Odin; Yusei anxiously watches over his shoulder.)

Broder: Just *look at Yusei's face*. I do believe he realizes how dire the situation is. Heheh!
Dragen: He'd *better*. Halldor's never *lost* once Gjallarhorn's been thrown.

Halldor: Next, thanks to Odin and his special ability, I get to draw one card from my deck! (T5D129_id1) Ah-- very nice. Now, I'll end my turn and since I have, Gjallarhorn's counter becomes one!
(One of the lights on Gjallarhorn's side darkens.)
Halldor: A counter that is the count-*down* to your demise, Yusei! Especially since, at this very moment, the effect of your Monster Chain trap-- (it shatters) is snapped! *Your move*, Yusei. Perhaps your last!

ACT 2 <<4:41>>

Announcer: Unbelievable! Team Five-Ds' most dynamic duelist Yusei Fudo, has fiercely fought off Team Ragnarok, but it's all been for nought! And now, you'd better believe the *rest* of Team Five-Ds' stomachs are *in* knots!
(Down at the pit booth, it looks as though the Announcer is right.)

Announcer: After all, this duel will be over, unless Yusei can muster a *miracle comeback*!
Yusei (think): As long as Halldor has "Odin's Eye" out, he'll be able to see my cards, *and* right through my strategies! But wait...!

(Flashback.)
FB Halldor: Yusei, when a god is on the field, *nothing* can negate the gaze of Odin's Eye! And since that's the case, it activates! Now, once per turn, by negating the special abilities of a god, I'm allowed to look at a facedown card in your hand (sic), or on your field!
(End Flashback.)

(Yusei looks startled; the revelation just hit him in the face.)
Yusei (think): Maybe I can use this to my advantage!! After all, what you see *isn't* always what you get!
(Yusei prepares to draw.)
Yusei: My turn!
(Scoreboard. Yusei, 1200, 2; Halldor, 4000, 9.)
Yusei: And first I'm summoning, Stardust Phantom!
[Stardust Phantom 0/0/L1/light]
(Stardust Phantom is an armored warrior in a cape, wielding a pike whose blade is shaped to resemble Stardust Dragon's head.)
Yusei: When Phantom is destroyed and sent to the graveyard, I can summon Stardust Dragon from my grave in defense mode. Furthermore, if I then remove Stardust Phantom from play, I can then lower Stardust Dragon's defense points by eight hundred, and make it invincible to any attacks you *dare* throw its way! I then end my turn with a facedown.
Halldor: I see what you're planning! I'll even break it down for you, step by step. Since Phantom's ability activates from the *graveyard*, Thor (sic) won't be able to negate it!
Yusei: Huh...!
(Halldor's tone is both superior and bored.)
Halldor: *Then* if my three Nordic Gods attack, you'll simply revive Stardust Dragon from your graveyard, and be able to survive the onslaughts due to his hardy defense. In fact, thanks to Stardust Phantom's ability, you can survive my gods' attacks *three times* and *still* keep Stardust Dragon.
Yusei: That's right!
Halldor: However, you forgot one thing; it's my turn, and my speed counter is up to ten! And so *that means*...
(Scoreboard. Yusei, 1200, 3. Halldor, 4000, 10.)
Halldor: I can activate Speed World Two's effect now; so by removing ten speed counters, I can destroy one card on the field!
(Halldor's speed counter decreases from 10 to 00.)
Halldor: The card that I choose to destroy-- is that Phantom!
Yusei: And since you *have*, Phantom's ability now activates; so what happens next is *just as you called it*. I can summon Stardust Dragon from my graveyard!
Halldor: Now, Thor-- attack!
Yusei: I play Phantom's *second* ability! *Just as you predicted*. By removing Phantom from play and lowering Stardust's defense points by eight hundred, he can't be destroyed in battle!
Halldor: Go, Thunderbolt Bludgeon!
(Thor's mighty hammer strikes Stardust right between the shoulders, and it cries out in pain.)
Halldor: Now *your* turn, Loki! Go, Vanity Blast!
(Loki aims his finger gun, and fires a blast of magic toward Stardust...)
Yusei: Once again, I activate Phantom's ability!
(Stardust Dragon's defense points sink further to 400. Loki's blast sizzles against its folded wings, and Stardust shrills another agonized roar. It hovers close to the track, steaming around the edges.)
Halldor: And that's the last time you *will*, Yusei. Don't you see? Stardust Dragon doesn't have enough defense points to save himself and stick around. You are *one move short* due to my speed counters.
(Yusei looks up at Stardust in horror.)
Halldor: And now, blast that Stardust Dragon off the field, Odin!
(Odin raises his mighty scepter/spear. From where Yusei is sitting, its length stretches halfway across the skyline. The moment seems to hang in the air.)
Halldor: Go, Sacred Scepter Slash!
(Odin stabs his spear toward Stardust... at the last moment Yusei grabs the only card left in his hand.)
Yusei: I play Stronghold Guardian! Since my monster in defense mode has been attacked, by banishing Stronghold, Stardust gains fifteen-hundred defense points until this turn's end phase!
(This gives Stardust 1900 defense points, then they immediately decrease to 1100.)
Yusei: Now Phantom, activate your ability!
Halldor: Oh no!!
(Odin's giant spear knocks Stardust aside, roaring with pain, flipping over out of control. It settles to hover above Yusei's runner.)
Yusei: Thanks for takin' some shots for the team, Stardust.
Halldor: Well, I have to admit to you, Yusei-- I am ever so impressed with how resourceful you have become. You've been down so many times, but never quite *out*. But that will now change-- I summon Jormungandr the Nordic Serpent to *your field*!
(A shimmering ring appears around Yusei and his runner.)
Yusei: *My* field...?!
(A moving grey mass is rising from the ring; a large, thick gray snake that sits in a ring around him, grasping its own tail in its teeth.)
[Jormungandr the Nordic Serpent /3000/L8/]
Yusei: What's this?! What's going on here?!
Halldor: I'll *tell you* what's going on here, Yusei. When a god is on my field, I can summon Jormungandr from my hand to your field in defense mode! Then, if Jormungandr switches to attack mode, you take three thousand points of damage! Next, I activate my facedown-- the trap "Gleipnir, the Fetters of Fenrir"! Due to Gleipnir, when a god is on my field, I can add Fenrir the Nordic Wolf from my deck to my hand! And then, again thanks to the gods, I can summon Fenrir from my hand to your field in defense mode-- and I'm *not just crying wolf*! Rise, my pet!!
[Fenrir the Nordic Wolf 4000/4000/L10/]
Halldor: now, when your turn's battle phase begins, Fenrir switches all monsters on your field in defense to attack mode! *Also*, from this point on, both players take damage from any battle involving Fenrir.
Yusei: Say *what*?!

Bruno: That is one tough card combo!
Leo: Wait, how's this a combo?
Jack: Because, Leo, during the battle phase of Yusei's next turn, Fenrir forces monsters from defense to offense, which means that-- *which means that*-- Jormungandr switches to offense, and Yusei takes three thousand points of damage!
Leo: What?!
Luna: Oh no!

Halldor; Next I place one card facedown and end my turn! And since I have, Gjallarhorn's counter becomes *two*.
(Another of the three lights on Gjallarhorn's side goes dark, and it is sounded again.)

Leo: This is bad!! Gjallahorn's counter has just one spot left!
Luna: Ohh, Yusei...!
Jack: Unless he does something soon about Jormungandr and Fenrir, he won't even last until *that* spot.

Yusei (think): The card Halldor just placed facedown *has* to be Odin's Eye!
(Halldor, eyes hidden behind the glare on his visor, gives away nothing, his face stony. Then he smiles just slightly.)
Yusei (think): I'll have to play this carefully.
(Yusei prepares to draw.)
Yusei: My turn now!
(Scoreboard. Yusei, 1200, 4; Halldor, 4000, 1.)
Yusei: I play the trap "Hope For Escape"! Now, since I have less lifepoints than you, Halldor, by getting rid of a *thousand* of them, I'm then allowed to draw one card for every thousand-point *difference* in our lifepoints.
(Yusei's lifepoints decrease to 200 again.)
Yusei: And since the difference between us is more than three thousand, I'm allowed to draw three cards from my deck!

Announcer: Whoa!! Yusei is taking a titanic risk here!! If he can capture the cards he covets, will it be worth it?! We'll see! After all, he has now just *two hundred lifepoints left*!!!
Bruno: Two hundred?! So pretty much, a strong gust of wind could, like, end this duel now!!
Leo: Oh no!
Luna: Yusei...!
Jack: The only good news is that Halldor's speed counter is still at one. Which means there's no way he could play an effect that'll take out Yusei's last points.
Crow: That's true, but since on Halldor's next run Gjallarhorn's effect will activate, Yusei has just one last move to win this and it begins now!

Yusei (think): Time for me to *rev things up*!

ACT 3 <<11:46>>

Yusei: It's my turn, Halldor! And I summon Life Gardna!
[Life Gardna 0//L1/]
Yusei: And with that done, I'm now gonna summon another monster simply by removing one that I already have from play! So now Jormungandr make way for Different Dimension Sprite!
[Different Dimension Sprite 0//L1/]
Halldor; But wait..!!

Crow: All right! That move changes *everything*!
Akiza: Yeah, now Halldor's Nordic combo won't work against Yusei!

Yusei: Different Dimension Sprite, now rise and tune with Life Gardna!
(Life Gardna transforms itself into a single ring.)
Yusei: Behold! As both power *and* speed surge towards each other and collide to create--
(Different Dimension Sprite floats through it. L1 + L1 = L2.)
Yusei: The synchro-- the tuner-- the mighty, Formula Synchron!
[Formula Synchron 200//L2/]
Halldor: A synchro-tuner?

Dragen: What's Yusei planning?

Yusei: Next I play Life Gardna's ability. Because Gardna was used to synchro-summon, I now gain eight hundred lifepoints!
(Yusei's lifepoints increase to 1000.)
Yusei: Now I'll play Formula Synchron's ability. With it, I'm allowed to draw one extra card from my deck every turn.
(Yusei prepares to draw, and pauses a moment over his deck.)
Yusei: The key to winning this duel now isn't just skill, it's *speed*.
(He draws the card, and looks at it.)
Yusei: And I just got a whole bunch of it! Let's rev- it- up!!!
(Purple streaks are beginning to appear in the air around Yusei, and the Seal of the Crimson Dragon burns in midair around.)

(The other four Signers are wearing expressions of shock and surprise.)
Jack: Could it *be*?! No way!

Yusei: I tune level-two Formula Synchron with my level-eight Stardust Dragon!
(Formula Synchron's two stars disappear down the violet-painted road ahead, and soon fly past as two green rings, turning the purple air tuning green, with purple streaks igniting around the nose of Yusei's runner.)
Yusei: Let the spirit of all Duel Monsters now spread its wings and soar to new heights, where it can be transformed by the winds of destiny!
(Stardust, soaring above him, is giving off multicolored sparks from its wings, like a gliding fireworks display. The two race onward on a shining road of light, surrounded by flecks of tuning green.)
Yusei: Where it can become all-powerful! Go, Accel Synchro!!!
(Eyes glittering with rushing stars, Yusei raises a blank card, and dust seems to scatter from its surface, revealing the card design of Shooting Star Dragon. Yusei and Stardust abruptly vanish from the glowing path.)
Halldor: What in the world!!
(A green light appears behind Halldor, and Shooting Star Dragon is the first to soar out of it and past Halldor, Yusei riding beneath.)
Yusei: Appear, Shooting Star Dragon!!
(Shooting Star Dragon glides a wide arc and comes to rest gliding above Yusei and his runner.)
[Shooting Star Dragon 3300//L10/]
(For the first time, Halldor sounds awed and afraid.)
Halldor: Shooting Star Dragon...?! That's Yusei's most ultimate monster!
Yusei: Now from my hand I'm playing the "Speed Spell - Star Force"! With this card, so long as I have four or more speed counters, I can remove one monster on my field from play! And then I can choose to give one monster on my field a *supercharged powerup* until this turn's end phase! So the monster I'm removing-- is Fenrir!
(Sparking, swirling bolts of power reach from Yusei's card to Fenrir, and shatter it.)
Yusei: And since Fenrir is level ten, I get to power up my Shooting Star Dragon by one thousand!
(Shooting Star Dragon's points increase to 4300.)
Halldor: Forty-three-hundred attack points...! This could pose a problem.
Yusei: A bigger problem than you realize, Halldor! Because now Shooting Star Dragon's ability activates-- which means I get to check the top five cards on my deck for tuner monsters!
(He pulls a handful of cards; Turbo Synchron, Junk Synchron, Sonic Chick, Scrap-Iron Scarecrow, and Nitro Synchron-- Turbo, Junk, and Nitro are all tuners!!)
Yusei: I have three; and I'm afraid for you, that now means I get to wage three separate attacks! Now then-- let's get to it! Shooting Star Dragon, attack!!!
(Shooting Star Dragon splits into three of itself, one reddish, one yellowish, the third blueish. Blueish makes a beeline for Thor, dives, and crashes right through the god's chest, leaving a hole straight through behind it. Halldor's lifepoints fall to 3200. Reddish hones in on Loki, and collides with him in a fiery explosion. Halldor's lifepoints drop again, to 2200. Finally, the yellow shade of Shooting Star Dragon plunges toward Odin, barely visible; a mosquito compared to Odin's enormousness. Then a big hole appears in Odin's chest, and the yellowish dragon crashes through his back. Odin evaporates, leaving the hole sliced through him behind to crackle in the air. Halldor is gripping his runner handles hard, enduring blow after blow; his points decrease again to 1900. He opens his eyes, sweat breaking out on his face, rune burning, eyes narrowed in intense fury.)
Halldor: *You will pay for that*, Yusei...!!

Leo: Uh-oh! Halldor's turn!
Luna: Yeah, and he sure looks mad.

(The two runners follow the track across the ocean below; Shooting Star Dragon soars above them.)
Halldor: Like a bug on my duel runner windshield, you just keep hanging on, refusing to accept that sooner or later, you're going to hit the pavement!
Yusei: The only thing that's hitting the pavement, are these two facedowns!
Halldor: Which means it is the end phase of this turn, and because it is--
(Thor is already rising from a trench in the surface of the ocean, still 3500 attack points strong.)
Halldor: Guess who's back! That's right, Thor has returned-- which means you take eight hundred points of damage!
(Yusei withstands the damage; his lifepoints have now been reduced to 200.)

Crow: Yusei!
Akiza: His points are back down to two hundred now.

(A gash opens up in the sky, revealing cosmic wonders beyond; Loki's gnarled, green hand reaches through, and starts pulling the rest of him back onto the field, 3300 attack points weak.)
Halldor: And now *Loki* is back, so I get to add a trap card in my graveyard *back to my hand*. And as you can see, the trap card I've selected, is Gods' Shackles Gleipnir (sic)!
(The card Halldor reclaimed is "Gleipnir, the Fetters of Fenrir". Odin descends from the heavens on a platform made of thin air, shining faintly.)
Halldor: Finally, Odin returns to the field, letting me draw one card from my deck-- but that's not the end of it; don't forget, now that we're at the turn's end phase, your dragon's attack points return to normal!
(Shooting Star Dragon's attack points decrease to 3300.)
Halldor: And now it's *my turn*! (draw)
(Scoreboard. Yusei, 200, 5; Halldor, 1900, 2.)

(The Spheres in the stadium are a cut-screen between Yusei's face and Halldor's.)
Announcer: What a back-and-forth battle this has turned out to be!!! It's *anyone's guess* what happens next!!

Dragen: *Anyone's guess*? It's clear as a bell what will happen! Or perhaps I ought to say, clear as a *horn*.
Broder: That's right. Gjallarhorn will soon blare, and since it'll be for the third time, Yusei's *outta* time!

Jack: Think Yusei has what it takes to win, Crow?
(Crow is clenching his fist so hard it shakes.)
Crow: Ya know what, Jack, I think we're all about to find out...!

ACT 4 <<17:02>>

(Yusei and Halldor ride onward.)
Yusei (think): It all comes down to this last round-- and I wouldn't have it any other way! (aloud) Bring it on, Halldor!!
Halldor: Aren't *you* peppy for someone who is about to lose!
Yusei: If I lose, at least I'll know I did everything I could to win.
Halldor: Oh, *please*-- that's the way *failures* speak! But I suppose that fits, because *you have failed*. And now I'm going to make it official. Then, at long last, all of the world will recognize something as an ironclad fact!! And that is-- the Nordic Gods can defeat *all* who oppose them!! *Even* your fledgling synchros!! Observe! I summon Tyr of the Nordic Champions!
[Tyr of the Nordic Champions 2000/2000/L4/light]
Computer: When Tyr of the Nordic Champions is released, the Nordic Gods cannot be affected by spells, traps, or special abilities.
Halldor: Next I activate the trap card "Odin's Eye"!

Akiza: Not *that* card...
Crow: Now he'll see right through Yusei's hand again...!

Halldor: Remember, Yusei; you can't negate the activation of Odin's Eye when a god is on the field. Of course, I have to negate my gods' abilities in order to use Odin's Eye, but that's a small price to pay! Next up, I play *Tyr's* ability! Now, by releasing Tyr, any attacks you were thinking of throwing my way won't do my gods any harm!
(Tyr vanishes.)
Halldor: In other words, the penalty that comes with *using* Odin's Eye is now gone!

Dragen: I love it when he saves his best moves for last!

Halldor: Now then, by the divine power of Odin's Eye, let's see that facedown!!
(One of Yusei's two facedowns appears on the field, and slowly begins to flip.)
Yusei: *Just* what I was hoping for! I activate my trap-- "Trick Mirror"! Due to this card, when your trap activates, I can activate its effect as though it were my own! And the trap effect that I'll be taking is that of Odin's Eye!
(Yusei's activated facedown opens up three panels of a mirror, and all of them reflect Odin. The eyepiece that had begun to shine and open up dims and seals itself again. The Odin in the mirror, though, has an eyepiece glowing with Halldor's rune eye.)
Halldor: Oh no!!!
Yusei: *And* this means your gods' abilities are negated *once more*!
Halldor (shakily): Fine-- what's it matter! Even without his ability, Odin has four thousand attack points, which is *more* than enough to take down your *Shooting Star Dragon*! But don't take *my* word for it-- see for yourself! Odin! Attack!
Yusei: I play Shooting Star Dragon's ability! Now by removing Shooting Star Dragon from play during your turn, the attack of one of your monsters is negated!
Halldor: So what! Your field is now empty, Yusei; I'll simply have one of my *other* two gods attack you now!
(Yusei smiles; Halldor played right into his strategy again.)
Yusei: I play the trap "Zero Force"! Now, Halldor, because my monster left the field, your three Nordic Gods are about to lose all of the power and might they each possess!
Halldor: That can't be!!
(Thor, Odin, and Loki's attack point totals each decrease-- all the way to 0.)
Halldor: But if their points are zero-- they can no longer attack!!
Yusei: And don't forget, at the end phase of this turn the effect of your Gjallarhorn trap activates.
(All three Nordic Gods shine white, visible only in outlines.)
Yusei: And that means all monsters on *your* field will be removed from play, and that I take damage *equal* to the combined attack points of those monsters. However, since the attack points of your three gods now total just *zero*-- I won't be taking any damage *at all*.
(The gods have now left the field-- and Yusei, against all odds, is still standing.)
Halldor: No way...!!

(Dragen pounds a fist on the pit booth counter; Broder and Sebastian look a bit worried about him.)
Dragen: Not fair...!! Yusei's outmaneuvered the gods!

Jack: And since the gods have been removed from play, Halldor *can't* bring them back!
Leo and Luna: Huh?

Yusei: Now that we've reached this turn's end phase, Shooting Star Dragon rises again!
(Shooting Star Dragon appears in a burst of light, 3300 attack points strong.)
Yusei: And with his rise comes your fall! Now go, Shooting Star! Ata-a-a-a-ack!!
Halldor: Ggggghhh-hhh-hhh--!!
(Halldor's lifepoints drop straight to zero, in a burst of light, smoke, and steam.)

(Dragen is hunched over the counter, teeth gritted, despairing. Broder's eyes are wide, as though he can't believe what just hit him.)
Dragen: Ggh! We're *failures*!
Broder: Rrrrrrrrrgggghhhh...!!

(Above, the sky has once again cleared of clouds, and now appears a radiant blue. Halldor's runner is streaming steam; Yusei passes him and rides ahead, determined and still smiling.)
Announcer: *Simply sensational*!!! The duel is over! Yusei has done it! And it's off to the Finals for *Team Five-D's*!!
