Original Air Date: April 23, 2011
(Previously, <1:19>)
(Opening)
ACT 1 <2:19>
Jean: Goodbye, Yusei! Take 'im out, Rhinotaurus!
(Rhinotaurus jumps into the air, ready to hit Yusei horn first.)
Yusei (think): I guess this is it-- there's nothing left to do--! (aloud) But play my trap card, "Harmony Crystal"! Now by removing a monster and a synchro in my grave from play, I'm allowed to bring *back* a synchro from my graveyard!
Jean: So?
Yusei: So Junk Destroyer and Max Warrior, make way for the return of Stardust Dragon!
[Stardust Dragon 2500//L8/]
Jean: Rhinotaurus, stop your attack.
Yusei: Wise move. And now for another move of my own, I activate the effect of Harmony Crystal-- so now you take damage equal to half of Stardust's attack points. <3:00>
(Stardust breathes a mist of blue and white specks, and brings Jean's lifepoints down to 1450.)
Announcer: *Jean's been jostled*!!! And this crowd is going crazy over it!
(Up in the stands, Trudge is grinning, the Duel Academy students are waving and calling out. Akiza's parents watch tensely still. The cheerleaders are standing on the aisle steps, waving their pompoms.)
Announcer: Can Yusei keep it up and *come through* with a *comeback* for all the ages?! It's possible-- after all, the difference between these two duelists' lifepoints, is now an infinitesimal *fifty*! Sta-ay tuned!
(The two riders zoom past the booths.)
Leo: Yeah, Yusei!
Luna: Easy; it's not over.
Crow: No, but at least we're back in this duel!
Bruno: Yeah.
Akiza: Hope it lasts!
Breo: This is simply *unheard*-of! Yusei's caught up to Jean with practically no cards in his deck!
Andre: Don't *sweat* it, Breo; *Jean* sure doesn't seem to be.
(They look back toward the duel...)
(Jean does have a confident smirk on his face as he decelerates to ride next to Yusei.)
Jean: Hmm. Nice move, Yusei. However... you've had Harmony Crystal facedown since the very first turn; and that means just one thing-- that it was the card you were savin' to finish me off with! Am I right?
(Yusei's face is turned away; he doesn't reply.)
Yusei (think): Ugh... he *is* right.
Jean (condescendingly): Don't go and feel *too* badly about it, Yusei! <4:00> It wasn't a *complete* waste. You *did* manage to shrink my lead down by a significant amount; but I'm afraid-- not quite enough to win. Because while you've nearly used nearly all your game-changer cards and strategies, *I* have loads; so many in fact, the only question is, which should I use to end you with!
(Yusei looks down at his hand and his badly depleted deck. His hand contains Scrap-Iron Scarecrow, Speed Spell - Speed Fusion, Summon Tax, and Stronghold Guardian.)
Jean: Fortunately, I probably won't have to answer that question, because the moment that you're outta cards completely-- *pow*! You lose! I now place one facedown and end my turn!
Yusei: Yeah, my cards're low, but I'll have your lifepoints at zero before my deck hits that mark! It's *my draw*!
(Scoreboard. Jean, 1450, 5; Yusei, 1400, 4.)
Yusei: Stardust Dragon, attack Rhinotaurus! Go, Cosmic Flare!
(Rhinotaurus is destroyed in a huge puff of smoke, and Jean's lifepoints fall to 750.)
Announcer: *Unbelievable*! With that last attack, Yusei has just latched onto the lead, at least in terms of lifepoints!
(Scoreboard. Jean, 750, 5; Yusei, 1400, 4.)
Crow: All right, this is huge, Jean's lifepoints are now at eight hundred (sic) and you guys know what *that* means!
Luna: Yeah, that Speed World Two's now a factor!
Bruno: All Yusei has to do is use four of his speed counters, and he'll win! <5:00>
Jean: I play the facedown, the trap "Thousand Crisscross"! This lets me raise my lifepoints up to one thousand, three separate times!
(Jean's lifepoints increase to 1000.)
Announcer: Oh my, Jean must've sensed Speed World's effect coming! So in a sensational display of self-preservation, he's lifted his lifepoints to a level where he can *withstand its wrath*!!
(Yusei looks at the trap card he's holding, and thinks of Stardust.)
Yusei (think): In that case, "Cosmic Blast" should come in handy. Once activated, if a dragon-type synchro leaves the field, Jean will take damage *equal* to that synchro's attack points. So since Jean will most likely destroy Stardust with Lightning Tricorn next turn... *that's* when I'll make my move.
(In black and white tones, Yusei can picture Lightning Tricorn turning and galloping toward Stardust...)
Yusei: I place one card facedown and end my turn!
Jean: Hmm. My draw.
(Scoreboard. Jean, 1000, 5; Yusei, 1400, 4.)
Jean: I activate the trap "Superficial Peace"!
Yusei: You *what*?
Jean: That's right. So that means neither one of us can activate a spell or a trap card and none of our monsters can be destroyed in battle! <6:00> Now, Lightning Tricorn, attack Stardust Dragon! Leaping Electric Lunge!
(Yusei's lifepoints are shocked down to 1100.)
Jean: But I'm not done. There's more beneath the surface of "Superficial Peace". Now, because you've taken damage, one of your spell or trap cards gets destroyed, and I get to draw one card!
(Yusei's trap is flipped and destroyed.)
Jean: "Cosmic Blast", eh? That's quite a powerful card; a card like that could've won you the duel; a card like that could've made you a hero; but unfortunately for you, a card like that is *just what I expected*!
(He draws a card and we glimpse it over his shoulder, Chain Whirlwind.)
Jean: You are *far too predictable*.
Yusei: Rrgh...
Jean: I place two facedowns and end my turn!
Breo: Whoa... that was a *close* one! If Jean had sprung Yusei's trap, this match would be *over*!
Andre: But that's the *thing* about Jean, he doesn't *spring* traps, he *sets* them.
Breo: Hm! And the best part is, Yusei's about to step in the *biggest trap of all*!
ACT 2 <6:53>
(Jean and Yusei round another curve in the track.)
Yusei (think): How do I beat a duelist who seems to know *all my strategies*, <7:00> and has all the cards to *counter* them? And how do I do it with my *own* deck down to a mere two cards!
(We glimpse Yusei's hand; Stronghold Guardian, Summon Tax, Speed Spell - Speed Fusion, and Scrap-Iron Scarecrow.)
Yusei (think): That is, if it can even be done at *all*.
(Luna and Bruno worriedly watch Yusei's face on the monitor.)
Luna: Yusei...
Crow: C'mon, bud, ya gotta dig deep!
Akiza: That's what he's *been* doing, but at a certain point you can't help but hit rock bottom!
Leo: What're you *saying*, Akiza, that this is *over*?!
Jack: *Over*? This isn't *over*!
(They startle, and turn; Jack, still in his hospital gown, is leaning heavily on the arm he has slung around Carly's shoulders, and Mina and the waitress nervously prop him up. Somehow he has managed to walk all the way out to the track with their support.)
Carly: Whoa, Jack.
Waitress: Take it easy...
All: Jack?!
Crow: Hey listen, man, you should be resting.
(Jack pulls his arm free of Carly's shoulder and stands on his own, to everyone's shock.)
Jack: No way! 'Cause if *I* can tough it out and be here I *know* Yusei'll sense it!
(Just then, Yusei rides past the pit booths, and his eyes, wide with surprise, meet Jack's for a long moment as Jack approaches the trackside fence and leans on it for balance. After Yusei rides past, Jack turns to the others.)
Jack: Don't you *see*? Toughing it out is all that matters right now. Win or lose, the key is that Yusei duels right down to the last card in his deck, with all his heart.
(Leo is the first to break the silence after Jack's ringing speech.)
Leo: Jack's right!
(Leo runs to the pit booth counter and leans over it, cheering. The others join him.)
Leo: Yusei-- *keep dueling*!! <8:00>
Luna: Yeah, with all your heart!
Akiza and Bruno: Go for it!
Crow: Just give it all ya got!
Yusei (mutters): They're right... (think) I can't give up hope.
(Leo and Luna are cheering, eyes bright with excitement; Akiza and Bruno watch proudly; Jack and Crow are nearly holding their breath.)
Yusei (VO): Win or lose, I need to at least battle till the end.
(Flashback. A still shot of a hectic day in the garage. Akiza sits on the edge of the landing at the top of the ramp, Luna standing next to her, both leaning over to watch the guys work on runners. Trudge stands in the doorway, next to Mina, who's also leaning over to spectate. Carly stands behind Akiza, and seems to be scolding the ever-boisterous Leo as he runs down the ramp. Below them, something seems to have just exploded with puffs of white steam; Bruno stands at the console trying to see the screen through the cloud, Crow looks confused, and Jack glances over his shoulder, still holding a helmet, and Yusei kneels next to the runner they're working on.)
Yusei (VO): Because it's *our* battle.
(Change Flashback to another still. Yusei and Crow race around a sharp curve with Jack close behind. Change still again. Yusei, Jack, and Crow, in their new racing outfits, stand together with their runners, casting white shadows on a field of black, each face resolved.)
Yusei (VO): We've been training for the Grand Prix for *so long* now; and we've been training *together*.
(End Flashback.)
Yusei (think): I won't let my friends down. I *won't* stop fighting! (draw) My draw!
(We saw Yusei's hand again; no change. Scoreboard. Jean, 1000, 7; Yusei, 1100, 6. Yusei just drew Synchron Explorer.)
Yusei (think): And *what a* draw! (aloud) I summon Synchron Explorer!
[Synchron Explorer ///]
Yusei: And since *he's* out on the field, I can add *another* synchron from my graveyard to the field as well! Yes it's true, I can't use any of this second synchron's effects-- but I *can* use something *else* about him! Junk Synchron, appear!
[Junk Synchron 1300//L3/]
Yusei: And now tune with level-two Synchron Explorer!
(Junk Synchron revs its motor and goes into action. Synchron Explorer sails through its green rings.)
Yusei: From two come one-- and from one will come great power! Behold as they merge their might, combine their courage--
(L2 + L3 = L5) <9:00>
Yusei: Now, behold! As I synchro-summon Junk Warrior!!
[Junk Warrior 2300//L5/]
Jean (mutters): Now Yusei has *two* synchros...?
Yusei (think): Some time ago, I discovered there was more to synchros than what I knew.
(Flashback. Yusei is forced toward the side of the track, as the air space directly beside him shines brighter and brighter, and Visor comes roaring out of it. Above him hovers a new monster, armored in bright lime green and orange.)
Yusei (think, VO): I discovered the accel synchro. But its power was a mystery to me. I never fully grasped this... *Synchro Solution*.
FB Yusei: What's *that*? And how were you able to summon it right in the middle of my turn?
(End Flashback.)
Yusei (think): I may *still* not have all the answers, but I think I have a few. And what better time to test them, than right now. (aloud) I activate the "Speed Spell - Speed Fusion"!
Jean: Just what're you scheming here?!
Yusei: You're about to see, Jean, because by sending cards that can make up a fusion monster from my field to the grave, I can *summon* that monster! So Stardust Dragon and Junk Warrior-- stand down, so that an even mightier beast can rise up! A beast forged by way of a fusion summon! <10:00> Appear, Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste!
[Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste 3200/2000/10/wind]
Computer: Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste is a level-ten fusion-type monster, with thirty-two-hundred attack points, and two thousand defense points.
Akiza: A *fusion* summon?
Crow: Check out *that* beast!
Jack: It's *remarkable*...!
(The crowd is loving this.)
Announcer: Talk about a *trump card*! That thing's *terrifying*! And from the look of it, *prepared to pounce*!
(Yusei's new monster towers halfway up to the rim of the track, a mighty draconic knight.)
Jean: Uh-oh!
Yusei: Draco-Equiste, unleash your wrath on Lightning Tricorn! Go, jousting javelin blast!!
Jean: I play the trap, "Return Damage"! This card takes any battle damage headed my way and reverses it, so now-- it's headed *your* way!
Yusei: Then *I* activate my Dragon Knight's ability! And it's an *ability* that negates any damage directed towards me from a card effect! Then *that* damage is redirected by my Dragon Knight right back to *you*.
(Jean takes the hit, and spins out a few times, and rights himself, now riding behind Yusei. His lifepoints are now down to 600.)
Announcer: Sensational!! Spectacular!! The superlatives simply don't suffice in this situation! But *believe me*, it's a *sight to see*! <11:00>
(The riders lap past the booths again.)
Leo: Way to go, Yusei!
Crow: What a move! What a monster! What a way to finish!
(Bruno anxiously returns his attention to the monitor screen.)
Bruno: Nothing is finished yet.
(He speaks as Yusei keeps riding, his face similarly serious; he knows this isn't over.)
Bruno (VO): But it could be soon... for *us*. Yusei's down to his last card!
ACT 3 <11:16>
(As they round another curve on the track, Jean glares up at Yusei's powerful new monster.)
Jean (mutters): A *fusion summon*. Well I most *certainly* didn't anticipate *this*. Yusei surprised me on *this* one.
Breo: He surprised us *all*. According to our data, he's *never* summoned such a beast before!
Breo (VO): At least the Thousand Crisscross Jean played earlier *will* up his lifepoints to a thousand.
(Jean's lifepoints increase to 1000 for the second time.)
Jean (think): Before I was counting on Yusei losing by running out of cards; but now I'll need to take some *extra precautions.* (aloud) I play, Lightning Tricorn's ability. Ya see, since he was destroyed, I'm now allowed to bring back, either Thunder Unicorn or Voltic Bicorn from my extra deck. And-- I choose Bicorn!
[Voltic Bicorn 2500//L7/] <12:00>
Yusei (mutters): Uh-oh, Voltic Bicorn? This could make things a little tricky.
(Flashback. Stardust Dragon and Voltic Bicorn collide in midair. Yusei is forced to discard from his deck.)
Yusei (VO): 'Cause when Bicorn's destroyed, I lose seven cards from my deck.
(End Flashback.)
Breo: Ha! I think I know where Jean's going with *this* strategy!
Bruno: Not good. Yusei knows better than to destroy that Voltic Bicorn, but if Jean *wants* him destroyed, then--
Akiza: Then all he has to do is have Bicorn attack Yusei's Dragon Knight!
Crow: Exactly right, Akiza, and that would finally deplete Yusei's duel deck!
Leo: No! That means-- he'd be through!
Yusei: True-- but don't go counting me out just yet. I play a facedown and end my turn!
Jean: Then it's *my* draw. Here goes!
(Scoreboard. Jean, 1000, 8; Yusei, 1100, 7.)
Jean: Now Voltic Bicorn, attack Draco-Equiste!
(Voltic Bicorn gallops for Yusei's Dragon Knight.)
Leo: Yusei!
Crow: Look out!
Yusei: I activate the trap "Scrap-Iron Scarecrow"!
(Scarecrow emerges from its card and butts heads with Bicorn, driving it back from whence it came.)
Yusei: And not only does it *scrap* the attack of your Bicorn, but afterwards, it returns to the field for me to use again!
Announcer: Oh, my! <13:00> Yusei staves off an attack and now will be able to avoid an early end-- due to lack of duel cards!
Jean: Nice. Still, that buys you a round and that won't be enough to win! I place one card facedown and end my turn!
Announcer: It all comes down to this next move for Yusei! With just one card, he needs to find a way to win here!
Announcer: Or he'll have *nothing to draw* next turn and be disqualified from the duel!
(Trudge, the Duel Academy kids, and the crowd beyond them, several carrying 5D's signs, watch anxiously.)
Luna (think): Come on...
Akiza (think): Believe...!
(Yusei grips the last card in his deck...)
Yusei (mutters): All the hopes and dreams of Team Five-D's comes down to this card. Let's hope it's a good one!
(He pauses-- then draws.)
Yusei: My turn!
(Scoreboard. Jean, 1000, 9; Yusei, 1100, 8. Yusei flips the card he drew; Speed Spell - Overspeed.)
Yusei: I activate the effect of Speed World Two! Now, since I have four our more speed counters, I can *remove* four speed counters to deal eight hundred points of damage for every speed spell in my hand!
(Yusei's speed counter decreases to 5. A blast of flame appears behind Yusei's runner, scorching Jean, who rides behind, down to 200 lifepoints.)
Jean: Thousand Crisscross's effect activates, and revives my lifepoints to a thousand! <14:00>
(Thousand Crisscross shatters; that was the last time Jean could use its effect.)
Leo: That makes three! Now Thousand Crisscross's effect can't be used again!
Jack: And without that effect protecting Jean... one more attack could end this.
Yusei: Next I activate the "Speed Spell - Overspeed"! Now, since I have at least four speed counters, by removing them all, I can add one level-three-or-below monster and one spell or trap card from my graveyard to my hand!
(Yusei's speed counter decreases to 0. Jean pulls slightly ahead of him again.)
Yusei: However, my speed counters now will decrease for three turns. As for the cards I'm adding to my hand, I'll choose Reflect Barrier, and Rapid Warrior-- who I'll also summon!
[Rapid Warrior 1200//3/wind]
Yusei: Now, Rapid Warrior, attack Jean directly!
Bruno: Go!
Crow: If this hits it's all over and Team Five-D's wins!
Yusei: Go, Warrior! Whiplash Walloping!
Jean: Hm. I play a trap card, "Barrier Wave"! Now by releasing one synchro monster on my field, I can switch all of *your* monsters into defense mode, <15:00> and then *you* take damage equal to the defense points of the monster that attacked!
Yusei: I *what*...?!
Jean: Voltic Bicorn, you're released!
(Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste is forced into defense mode, as is Rapid Warrior.)
Jean: Now, since Draco-Equiste is in defense mode, he can't negate damage from a card effect. Which means the damage you're due for Barrier Wave will *now be dealt*!!
(Yusei takes the damage, and his lifepoints reduce to 900.)
Luna: Aahh...!
Leo: Yusei, no!
Announcer: Absolutely amazing! Yet again, Yusei's assault has been stopped *short*!! What a dynamic display of counter-dueling!!
(The two runners zoom past the pit booths again.)
Yusei: Ugh. I remove A/D Changer in my grave from play. Now due to its special ability, I can switch Draco-Equiste back into attack mode. I then throw two cards facedown and end my turn!
(As the Announcer speaks, each person in Team 5Ds' pit booth, and many in the audience including Trudge and the Duel Academy kids, are holding their breath.)
Announcer: And it will be Yusei's *last* turn! Now it's just a matter of Jean surviving this round-- then Yusei will have no cards and be forced to forfeit the fight!
Jean: Must be hard to have it end this way; just sitting there, so *powerless*, feeble. <16:00> Well *too bad*, your time has now come! Here's my draw!!
(Scoreboard. Jean, 1000, 10; Yusei, 900, 0.)
Yusei: And here's my facedown, Jean-- "Summon Tax"!
Jean (think): Uh-oh-- a trap!
Yusei: With this, if a player summons a monster this turn, that player takes damage equal to half that monster's attack points!
Jean (think): And since Yusei added Reflect Barrier to his hand last turn, I'll bet *that's* the facedown out on his field! Which *means*--
(Vision. Jean imagines how the move would play out, in blueish tones. Yusei summons Junk Warrior, then activates Reflect Barrier.)
Jean (think, VO): If Yusei can somehow summon a monster *this* turn, the damage from the effect of Summon Tax will be redirected to *me*, due to Barrier's effect. *However*...
(End vision.)
Jean (think): The damage from the effect of Summon Tax would only be *half* the summoned monster's attack points. So in order to get rid of my *one thousand lifepoints*, Yusei would need to summon a monster with an assault power of at *least* two thousand points. And the odds of that are slim; the odds of me continuing to back him into a corner, however, are one hundred percent! (aloud) I activate the "Speed Spell - Tyrant Force"! Now, during this turn, <17:00> every time a card on *your* field is destroyed, you take three hundred points a' damage! Next I activate the effect of Speed World Two!
(Jean's speed counter decreases from 10 to 0, and Yusei passes him.)
Jean: Now, by removing ten of my speed counters, I can destroy one card on the field-- and the card I'm destroying is Summon Tax!
(Yusei looks back over his shoulder.)
Yusei: That's *just what I was hoping*.
Jean: What?!
Yusei: I now activate Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste's ability. Now by removing a fusion-material synchro monster from play, Draco-Equiste *gains* that monster's abilities until the turn's end phase. And the monster I choose to remove is Stardust! So now Dragon Knight Draco-Equiste has inherited the ability, to stop you from using Speed World Two to destroy Summon Tax-- but for a price.
Jean: What's the price?!
Yusei: To save Summon Tax, Draco-Equiste *must* be released!
(Draco-Equiste vaporizes into a bolt of energy, which cancels out the one aimed at Summon Tax.)
Yusei: However, come this turn's end phase, Draco-Equiste is allowed to *return* to the field.
Leo: So he's not really going anywhere at all!
Luna: Yeah, Yusei's got it *all planned out*!
Bruno: It sure seems that way. <18:00> Especially if this combo that he set up works.
Crow: We should know soon!
Jean: Rrrghh! Don't think you've won this yet, Yusei!! I summon to the field, the monster Hypnocorn!
(Hypnocorn is a cute little blue creature with swirly horns.)
[Hypnocorn 1400///]
Yusei: Go ahead-- but now, *you* take damage due to Summon Tax's effect! Half your monster's attack points!
(Jean's lifepoints are blasted down to 300.)
Jean: Aggghhh... No prob, 'cause when Hypnocorn is summoned, I'm allowed to destroy a facedown spell or trap card on the field-- you only have *one*, (sic) and I have a hunch what it is! Reflect Barrier!
(Yusei's trap flips and then shatters; Jean was right.)
Leo: No! Now Yusei's plan to win won't work!
Jean: And now due to Tyrant Force, you take damage to the tune of-- three hundred!
Yusei: Uggghhh...!
(Yusei's lifepoints reduce to 600 in a crackle of electricity.)
Jean: Now I play "Chain Whirlwind"! Since a card was destroyed due to an effect, two spell or trap cards are now *also* destroyed! So *say goodbye* to Summon Tax and Scrap-Iron Scarecrow!
Leo: All of Yusei's cards, they're, gone!
Crow: And Jean's not even done yet!
Jean: Tyrant Force, *force* Yusei's lifepoints down, once again!
(With another crackling blast, Yusei is down to 300 lifepoints.)
ACT 4 <19:00>
(The stadium screens all show the scoreboard; Jean and Yusei are neck-and-neck, each with 300 lifepoints and 0 speed counters.)
Announcer: The points are all even-- but since Jean simply has to say he's entering into his turn's end phase to win, that may not matter!
Leo: So then... he lost...?
Luna: No...!
(Jack is silent, his eyes intent on the duel.)
(Jean rides up and pulls even with Yusei, watching his face.)
Jean (think): It's over. All I need to do is end my turn-- and Yusei will lose! Except that...
Announcer: What in the *world*?! Jean, on the verge of victory, seems to be having second thoughts about his tactic for triumph!
(The crowd is silent, stunned; the cheerleaders have stopped cheering, their pompoms at their sides or anxiously pressed to their chests.)
Jean (think): This whole match, my *one goal* has been to prove that Team Unicorn is the best! ... And...
(Jean is still staring at Yusei's face; Yusei still doesn't notice. To the last, he still shows only resolve, no fear.)
Jean (think): Ya gotta *beat* the best! Yusei was right-- letting 'im run outta cards is no way to win.
Breo: What's going on? Why won't Jean just end his turn, we'll win by disqualification!
(Andre is smiling; he's realized the same thing Jean has.)
Andre: Yeah, and who wants *that*?
Breo: Are you nuts?! Andre, that was our plan from the very *start*!
Andre: I know, but sometimes plans *change*. <20:00>
(Flashback. Jean approaches Andre after a street duel in a parking garage years ago.)
FB Jean: Whaddaya say we *join forces*?
FB Andre: Join forces?
FB Jean: Yes... duel together on the same team. Because on a team you win at *any* cost. There's no place for pity because your teammates are *counting on you*.
FB Andre: Ya know... you're right.
(End Flashback.)
Andre: Sure; I know what it *looks like*... that Jean's letting Yusei off the hook here, even pitying him, but I don't think that's the case at all.
Breo: So... *what* then?
(The two riders zoom past the booths.)
Andre: It's like Jean once said to me-- on a team you win at *any cost*. I think I finally understand what he meant by that.
(Jean continues to watch Yusei's face.)
Andre (VO): I think even *Jean* understands it better now *himself*. Winning isn't beating an opponent by some *technicality*. It's taking him down like a *true duelist*! And *that's* why Jean's decided not to end his turn now. Sure, he wants to win, but *truly* win-- for *us*!
(The two riders fly around another curve.)
Breo: In *that* case, Andre--
(As Jean rounds the curve, he sees his team's arrow sign, the one used to indicate a pit stop.)
Jean: Huh?!
(Breo is holding up the sign, speaking encouragingly, all but jumping up and down.)
Breo: Jean-- we're with you all the way! <21:00> Win or lose--
(Jean hears the rest also through his helmet radio.)
Breo (via radio): Let's do it like *true duelists*!!
Jean: All right, Yusei-- if I'm gonna beat you, I'm gonna do it with force!
Yusei: Yeah? Then go for it.
(And the crowd goes wild.)
Announcer: I can't believe it! This card combat is continuing!
Blonde girl: Go, Yusei!
(The cheerleaders are performing in the aisles again.)
Cheerleaders: Go-o-o-o-o-o, Jean!
Jean: Go!! Hypnocorn, to battle! Attack Rapid Warrior!
Andre and Breo: Yeah!!!
Leo, Luna, Bruno, Crow, Akiza: Yusei!
Yusei (mutters): Perfect. The one card that can help; the *one card* left in my hand! (aloud) Stronghold Guardian! And now I activate its special ability!
(Stronghold Guardian's depicted figure appears, a muscular guy holding up a large, craggy castle on his back.)
Jean: Oh no...! But *that* would mean...!
Yusei: It means by sending Guardian to the grave, Rapid Warrior's defense points increase by fifteen-hundred.
(The towers of the rocky fortress close in around Hypnocorn, and when it's squished it explodes.)
Jean: Aaaaaaghh...!
(Jean's lifepoints decrease to 0 and his runner starts gushing steam. Yusei races ahead, Jean skidding to a barely-controlled stop in his wake.)
Announcer: What a finish!! With his very last card, Yusei and Team Five-D's win!!!
