(Opening)
ACT 1 <3:19>
Yusei: You... 'came to steal' me?
(Mid-day on a dueling track somewhere over the oceans of New Domino. The duelist who has just unmasked and declared herself Sherry LeBlanc sits astride her duel runner opposite Yusei and Akiza-- perched in back-- on Yusei's runner.)
Yusei (darkly): What does *that* mean?
Sherry: Like those vicious brutes who abducted you, I want you on my team. You and I will ride together in ze World Grand Prix-- and win it all!
Yusei: Oh, yeah?
Sherry: I am not asking you to answer me *today*. Zis is a sort of meet-and-greet. Let us have fun.
(She puts her helmet back on, but now she's readjusted it and her face can be seen clearly. She turns and keeps riding.)
Yusei: You're on! (to Akiza) So you up for finishing this duel?
Akiza: You'd better believe it. I've never seen a turbo-duel from this point of view; I wanna see how it *ends*! That, and I don't trust this girl; and if she tries to pull something, I wanna be there to help! So let's move it! <4:00>
Yusei: All righty then. Just hang on tight!
(Yusei takes off once again, riding after Sherry.)
Sherry: Let us continue our duel!
Yusei: It's my move!
(Scoreboard: Sherry, 3900, 4; Yusei, 2300, 5)
Yusei: I summon the tuner monster, Turbo Synchron!
[Turbo Synchron 100/L1/]
Yusei: And now I'll tune *it* with my Junk Warrior, in order to synchro-summon, Turbo Warrior!!
(As Junk Warrior hovers within Turbo Synchron's single ring, tuning math flashes across the screen: L5 + L1 = L6.)
Yusei: Let's rev it up!
[Turbo Warrior 2500//L6/]
Yusei: But before attacking, I'm going to activate my Turbo Warrior's special ability, which will slash the twenty-seven-hundred attack points of your Fleur de Chevalier in half, because your monster's level is *greater than six*!
(Fleur de Chevalier's new total is 1350 attack points.)
Akiza (think): *Amazing*! He just turned the advantage of having a high-level monster into a *disadvantage*!
Yusei: Now, Turbo Warrior-- attack!
Sherry: Ugh!
(Her lifepoints are down to 2750.) <5:00>
Akiza: Why wasn't it destroyed...?!
Sherry: Because it is protected by ze trap "For Our Dreams"! By sending one monster on my field to ze graveyard, I can spare another monster its inevitable destruction!
Yusei: Rrrghh...!
Sherry: *And*, since Fleur de Chevalier 'as emerged from ze battle unscathed, she regains her full strength!
Akiza (think): Now she has the power to take out Turbo Warrior on her next turn! Unless--
(She expectantly looks down at Yusei.)
Yusei: I reveal my trap-- "Synchro Out"! Now I can de-tune my synchro monster and bring Junk Warrior and Turbo Synchron back to the field until my End Phase!
Akiza (think): But why do *that*?! Her Chevalier could wipe the walls and scrub the floor with *both* of those guys!
Sherry (think): It seems Yusei's committed *quite* ze faux pas. Unless, of course-- that facedown card happens to be "Urgent Tuning"! And *if my hunch is correct*, then you could use that card to resurrect Turbo Warrior, so that it can attack my Fleur de Chevalier *again*! But *then* my Chevalier's special ability would activate and negate ze effect of your trap card, and destroy it. <6:00> I, however, believe that one with *your* knowledge would know zat-- so there must be something else. Something *very clever*...
Akiza (to Yusei): Talk to me. *What is your strategy here*? *Well?!*
Yusei: Sherry, you can use Chevalier's ability once per turn-- you gonna do it?
Sherry: And prevent you from getting rid of Turbo Warrior? Now why would I go and do something as foolish as zat! No, Yusei Fudo-- I want to see what it is you are hoping to accomplish! Adieu, Turbo Warrior!
Yusei: *Well*, then-- I'll show you by summoning Turbo Synchron and Junk Warrior!
[Turbo Synchron 100//L1/]
[Junk Warrior 2300//L5/]
Yusei: And with them on the field, I reveal-- the "Urgent Tuning" trap card!
Sherry: Magnifique! That was what I was waiting for! With Chevalier's special ability, I can prevent your tuning and obliterate your trap card! Now you are without traps, Yusei Fudo! But I imagine you *expected* zis would happen, and so you prepared yourself... <7:00> with a spell-- which is why I am now, at zis point, revealing *my* trap card; "Chain Close"! Zis card will prevent you from activating whatever spell you may have been planning on using!
Akiza (think): She just shut Yusei down *completely*! With no traps and no spells, there's nothing stopping her from using Fleur de Chevalier to take out one of his monsters on her next turn!
Yusei: You're right, Sherry, I *did* prepare myself with a spell-- but I also prepared for your trap!
Sherry: Uh!
Yusei: I'm going to attack Fleur de Chevalier with Turbo Synchron!
Sherry: N'ahh!
Akiza: But it won't *win*-- It doesn't have enough attack points!
Yusei: Then I'll activate its special ability, and force your Chevalier into defense mode!
(Fleur de Chevalier's defense points are 2300.)
Sherry: Zat does nothing for you! Zat little synchron has no hope of crashing through Fleur de Chevalier's defense-- and with defeat comes damage!
(Turbo Synchron attacks Chevalier and bounces off; Yusei winces slightly as his lifepoints fall-- all the way to 100. He's hanging on by a thread! Akiza looks down at him, concerned, then spots the lifepoint counter on his screen.)
Akiza: Only a hundred lifepoints left! Yusei, d'you *realize* what you just *did*?!
(She gasps. Yusei is still smiling. She can hardly believe her eyes, feeling forlorn, on the outside looking in on something she can't understand.)
Akiza: ...Yusei?
ACT 2 <7:56>
Sherry: You only have one hundred lifepoints remaining, Yusei Fudo! <8:00> What *will* you do?
Yusei: I activate my Turbo's ability! See, when it attacks and loses, its ability lets me summon a monster from my hand, as long as its attack points aren't greater than the damage I took.
Sherry: Hm!
Yusei: So I'm summoning, Junk Collector!
[Junk Collector 1000/2200/L5/light]
Yusei: And now I activate Junk Collector's special ability. This forces me to remove a trap card in my graveyard from play entirely; but in doing so, it lets me *activate* it! See, I had a feeling you'd send "Urgent Tuning" to the graveyard when you had the chance!
Sherry: Nice move!
Akiza: Oh yeah? If you thought *that* was nice, then this *next* move is *totally* gonna blow you away!
Yusei: That's right, Sherry-- now I tune Junk Warrior with my Turbo Synchron, in order to synchro-summon-- Turbo Warrior!
(Again Junk Warrior's five stars align within Turbo Synchron's single ring; L5+ L1 = L6.)
Yusei: Let's rev it up!!
(Turbo Warrior reappears, even shinier than before, ready for battle!)
[Turbo Warrior 2500//L6/]
Sherry: *So much sacrifice* for one monster! <9:00> It seems you're not afraid of flying too close to ze sun! Hmhmhm..
Yusei: Go, Turbo Warrior! Take out Sherry's Fleur de Chevalier!
(It does.)
Yusei: It's *your move*.
(Sherry grins over her shoulder.)
Akiza (think): Yusei's so close to losing, but he seems to be having *fun*! And *her*! The way he duels with *her* is *different* than the way he duels with me. It's like when he duels Jack, and Crow. He's full of spirit; he's dueling from the heart. Why isn't he like that with *me*?
(The two runners zoom under a bridge overpass, Sherry ahead and Yusei not far behind.)
Sherry: You may have vanquished Fleur de Chevalier, but in order to do so you drove yourself to the brink of defeat where you are now hanging on by a thread! With Speed World Two in play, as long as I 'ave four or more speed counters, I can deal eight hundred points of damage for every speed spell in my hand. *And*, as it so happens-- hmhmhmhmhm! I currently *have* four speed counters, but no cards in my hand. So your fate today depends on my next draw! Should I draw a speed spell for my hand, <10:00> it will be all over for you!
Yusei: Mm.
Sherry: But zis is what you live for, is it not? You feel most alive when you're at ze edge! Yet somewhere in your heart you know that such recklessness will be your undoing one day!
(Yusei frowns, but doesn't answer.)
Akiza (think): How does she know what's in his heart?! I guess as turbo-duelists they *understand* each other. The speed, the wind, the rush-- it must create a bond between duelists that I've never really known...
Sherry: Let us see if you will fall from your edge! I draw my card!
(Scoreboard-- Sherry, 2750, 5; Yusei, 100, 6. Tense pause. Yusei and Akiza are watching Sherry; Akiza's worried, Yusei is poker-faced.)
Sherry: ...I summon Sacred Knight Shield-Bearer in defense mode!
[Sacred Knight Shield-Bearer /1300/L4/]
(Akiza breathes a sigh of relief.)
Akiza (think): She didn't draw a speed spell...
Sherry: Next, I activate Shield-Bearer's special ability! By removing one 'Sacred Knight' card from my graveyard, I am able to draw another card from my deck!
Akiza: So... she gets to draw *again*?!
Sherry: Hahahahahaha!
(She draws again. Yusei and Akiza are watching her intently.)
Sherry: ...I place one card facedown, and end my turn! <11:00>
(Akiza sighs again with relief.)
Sherry: I had *two chances*, but fate was on your side both times. Hehehuhuhuhuh! I simply *must* have you on my team!
(Yusei again doesn't respond.)
Sherry: Tell me, Yusei Fudo-- what *is it* you are dueling for? Why are you entering ze World Racing Grand Prix with your friends?
Yusei: *I* don't know. I mean, why do mountain-climbers climb mountains? It's because they're *there*, isn't that what they say?
Sherry: So in *other* words, you *have* no reason! There is nothing driving you but thrill, ambition, perhaps beaux dames?
Yusei: So tell me-- what're *you* driven by?
Sherry: If you *must* know, Monsieur Fudo-- I am driven by my hunger for revenge! And I will stop at *nothing* until I have *finally* achieved it!
ACT 3 <11:44>
Yusei: So Sherry, you're out for *revenge*? Against who?
Sherry: I will tell you.
(Flashback. The ornate family crest on the gate is embossed in gold or bronze. It swings open revealing the palatial estate behind it, including the same crest carved in stone or marble on the gable of the central wing's pointed roof.)
Sherry (VO): I was born into ze LeBlanc family. My parents were extremely wealthy, my father the head of a card company he inherited from *his* father. <12:00> My childhood was a happy one. Winters in ze mountains; summers at our estate in the country...
(As she speaks, we enter the house through the front doors, past two bowing, matching doormen, through the spacious hall and through another set of double doors, past two bowing, matching maids, and through another set of double doors to find the LeBlanc family sitting in an elegantly-decorated parlor. Sherry's mother sits primly perched on one side of the couch, knitting. Sherry's father holds his young daughter in his arms; in this flashback, Sherry herself is perhaps no older than seven, and giggling all over.)
Sherry (VO): Horseback riding lessons, piano lessons, croquet games and cool afternoons. And my parents, zey were carefree and kind!
(Monsieur LeBlanc has an angular black hair and beard style that conveys a certain dashing flair as well as affluence; Over more conventional business attire he wears a golden-yellow-edged black coat in the style of old-fashioned and fancy military uniforms. Madame LeBlanc wears a strapless afternoon gown in vivid green and white; her thick, wavy hair is the color of wheat, and her kind eyes are green. She looks up from her knitting with a smile.)
Sherry (VO): But things started to change.
(Change Flashback. Later, perhaps that same afternoon, we peek around a corner into an office. Monsieur LeBlanc is in the middle of a heated phone conversation, with Madame LeBlanc standing by watching anxiously.)
FB M. LeBlanc: No! *You* listen to *me*! You're *never* getting my company! We are *not selling*! And if you *ever* threaten me and my family again, things are going to get *really* ugly!
(He slams down the phone. Neither of her parents notice young Sherry watching from the doorway, and she looks to be on the verge of tears. His wife anxiously closes the distance between them; he turns around and puts a hand to his forehead, tense and worried.)
FB Mme. LeBlanc: You don't think zey'd really hurt us, do you?!
(Then both of them gasp, having noticed Sherry, and try to smile. She lights up and runs to her father's arms; he picks her up and holds her close, carrying her around to the other side of the desk.)
Sherry (VO): My parents tried to shield me from all zat was going on. One afternoon, my father gave me ze most *adorable* little teddy bear.
(He opens a desk drawer and takes the teddy bear out of it; little Sherry loves it. The teddy bear *is* very adorable and fuzzy.)
Sherry (VO): And zen, zat night...
(Change Flashback. Young Sherry picks up her new teddy bear from her pillow and hurries to the door of her bedroom in her nightgown, hearing the sounds of a struggle.)
Sherry (VO): I was torn out of my sleep by noises; screaming, shouting! Frightened, I went to my parents' room.
(Young Sherry peeks through the door, and gasps, now wide awake. She backs up from the door, eyes wide in horror.)
Sherry (VO): The room was a mess, things thrown everywhere! My parents were nowhere to be seen.
(She backs up right into a tall man in the black suit of a butler. She looks up, momentarily frightened, then sees who it is. She starts crying, but he kneels down and puts a hand over her mouth, and a finger to his lips, urging her to be silent.)
Sherry (VO): Our butler, Ellsworth, found me; told me not to be scared. <13:00> Together, we fled the estate.
(He swoops the tiny girl up in his arms, and runs down the hall as she starts crying again.)
(Change Flashback. Later, Ellsworth cautiously pulls aside a thick drapery and peers out a window around the back of a neon sign; they're somewhere far off the beaten path, hopefully under the radar. He looks back inside; little Sherry is sitting on the plain bed in the hotel room, holding her teddy bear close and crying her eyes out.)
Sherry (VO): Ellsworth explained the situation to me. A corporation had been trying to purchase my father's business. When my father refused, strange men began coming around, making threats.
(Ellsworth takes the single red flower from the vase on top of the chest of drawers, and offers it to the little girl. She's still crying too hard to notice. He gently takes the teddy bear, and puts the flower under its arm, as though it's holding the flower.)
Sherry (VO): And zen, he told me-- we could never again return to ze estate. I was just a child at ze time; I understood so little of what was going on!
(Little Sherry stops crying at the sight of the teddy bear with the flower, surprised and touched. She hugs the teddy bear with all her might and starts crying again. Ellsworth watches her cry, somber. It falls to him to protect this innocent little girl from harm, and unlike her, he knows exactly what danger she is in.)
Sherry (VO): Ellsworth explained that we had to keep moving, zat ze people who had come for my parents would be looking for *me*!
(Change flashback. And so they traveled, a tall, burly man holding the hand of a little blonde girl in a pink hoodie carrying a teddy bear. As she speaks, a map traces their journey: from southern France to just west of London, across the Atlantic to Nova Scotia, then the heart of Quebec, then the eastern shore of Lake Winnipeg, then somewhere in Utah or Nevada, then the coast of Oregon, then Hawaii, then far across the Pacific to Japan.)
Sherry (VO): And so we journeyed from country to country, city to city, relentlessly pursued by ze monsters who had taken my parents from me! Along ze way, I learned zat ze corporation was just a front!
(End Flashback.)
Sherry: Ze *real* organization pursuing me is known as-- Iliaster!
Yusei: *Iliaster*?! I think I heard that name from Goodwin's brother, Roman!
Akiza: Sayer used to tell me about them. He'd say they were evil and out to destroy the Arcadia Movement. <14:00>
Sherry: From what little I have gathered, they are a secret society with wild ideas about ze universe. Zey operate from ze shadows, and zey will do anything to get rid of those who stand in their way-- (anguished) which is why zey came for my family!
Yusei: I'm so sorry, Sherry.
(Akiza is speechless, sympathetic.)
Sherry: Eventually... I discovered ze real reason they are so desperate to find me.
(Flashback. One dark night, hidden in a hotel room somewhere between France and Japan, Ellsworth unzips the back of the teddy bear, and pulls out a small, rectangular object. It may very well be a card, but might also be a computer chip of some kind.)
Sherry (VO): In the teddy bear my father gave me, he hid something.
(Little Sherry, sitting next to him, gasps, wide-eyed, at the sight of it.)
Akiza (VO): What *was* it?
Sherry (VO): Until I am certain I can trust you, zat will remain my secret!
(End Flashback.)
Sherry: I want you to help me, Yusei Fudo. Iliaster is pulling the strings behind ze upcoming World Racing Grand Prix!
Yusei: Wait, are you *sure*?
Sherry: Oui. Zis is why I want more than anything to win-- to get closer to *zem*! Even more than revenge, I need *answers*, Yusei Fudo! I *must know* what Iliaster did with my parents and what zey're *planning* to do! I *must win this race*-- and I know I can do so with you on my team!
Akiza: Yusei's already *got* teammates, *Frenchy*, he's racing with his friends! He's not just gonna--
Sherry (coldly): No one is talking to *you*! <15:00>
Akiza: Hang on a sec! First of all you don't know the *first thing* about Yusei!
Sherry: I know plenty.
Akiza: Ah?!
(Sherry's visor reflects the futuristic buildings of New Domino ahead of them.)
Sherry: In just a few turns, we 'ave come to know each other's spirits. As turbo-duelists, we have come to understand the winds that stir us from within! During the Grand Prix I will be riding full-throttle on ze cutting edge with everything to lose and everything to gain-- *Is zat not ze kind of duel you want in on, Yusei Fudo?!* If you race with me, you will find ze drive you seek.
Yusei: Look, I, uh...
Sherry: I do not require an answer at zis point in time. Just think it over. It is your turn now, non?
Yusei: Hmm.
Sherry: Make your move!
(Akiza watches tensely, still worried.)
Yusei: All righty then! Let's finish this!
(Draw. Scoreboard: Sherry, 2750, 6; Yusei, 100, 7.)
Yusei: I activate the effect of the Speed World Two field spell! By removing seven of my speed counters, I can draw another card! I summon the Drill Synchron tuner monster in attack mode!
[Drill Synchron 800/300/L3/earth]
Yusei: And now, Turbo Warrior! Take out Sacred Knight Shield-Bearer! <16:00>
(Turbo Warrior destroys Shield-Bearer.)
Yusei: Time to drill this maneuver home! Even though Shield-Bearer was in defense mode, Drill Synchron can drive forward and deal the point difference to you as damage!
Sherry: U-ugh!
(She's down to 1550 lifepoints now.)
Yusei: And when you take damage from Drill Synchron's special ability, I can draw another card from my deck!
Sherry: I'm revealing the Freedom Release trap card!
(This card is officially known in the game as "Liberty At Last".)
Computer: When a monster on your field is destroyed in battle, the trap Freedom Release returns all monsters on the field to their owners' decks.
Sherry: Now your monsters must abandon you, leaving you to fend for yourself-- something I promise will *never happen* if you join my team, Yusei!
Yusei: Thanks, but I won't be alone for long.
(He places two facedowns.)
Akiza (think): How can Yusei be so confident? His field's *wide-open*. If she draws a speed spell or monster on the next turn he's done-for!
(She looks down at Yusei; she can only see the back of his helmet.)
Akiza (think): Unless those facedowns are game-changers...
Sherry: Heheheheh! It is *my turn* now!
(Draw. Scoreboard: Sherry, 1550, 7; Yusei, 100, 1.)
Sherry: I summon Sacred Knight Jeanne in attack mode!
[Sacred Knight Jeanne 1900//L4/] (Pronounced 'Joan') <17:00>
Akiza (think): This is it!
Sherry: Unfortunately, Sacred Knight Jeanne must sacrifice three hundred attack points in order to attack. But that isn't going to stop her! Sacred Knight Jeanne, take 'im out!
(Sherry goes into a daring sideways skid, as Sacred Knight Jeanne raises her ornate sword and lunges forward, slashing.)
Yusei: I reveal my "Synchro Spirits" trap card! Now if I remove a synchro monster in my graveyard from play, I can bring back the monsters I tuned to summon it! So by removing Junk Warrior, I can summon Junk Synchron and Speed Warrior in defense mode!
(Sacred Knight Jeanne destroys Junk Synchron.)
Sherry: An *interesting* twist! I wonder what's next? I cannot wait! It's *your move*!
Akiza (think): I've *never experienced* a duel like this! The speed of their attacks; their defenses; and the way they just go back and forth, perfectly anticipating each other, constantly outthinking each other! Is what Sherry said *true*? Do turbo-duelists get each other in ways that other duelists don't? ... <18:00> Does... does she really already know and understand things about Yusei that I can't because I'm *not a turbo-duelist*? And the others...
(Vision. Akiza envisions each of these people as she names them.)
Akiza (VO, think): Trudge... Kalin... Jack... Crow.
(End Vision.)
Akiza (think): Are they all connected by something I'll *never be a part of*?
Yusei: It's my move!
(Scoreboard. Sherry, 1550, 8; Yusei, 100, 2.)
Yusei: And from my hand, I activate the High Speed Crash speed spell!
(Officially "Speed Spell - High Speed Crash".)
Yusei: With two speed counters, I can use this spell to send one card on my field crashing into any other card in order to destroy them both!
Sherry: So you're looking to sacrifice your facedown card in order to vanquish Jeanne! (think) However, due to Jeanne's special ability, when she is destroyed I can move one spell card from my graveyard to my hand-- a speed spell!
Yusei: I destroy my facedown card along with my Speed Warrior!
Sherry: You are destroying your *own* monster?!
Yusei: Sure am, but not before activating the "Starlight Road" trap!
Sherry: Ça n'mettais pas!! (You did not just play that!!)
Yusei: I'll assume that means you're not too happy, since my Starlight Road's effect saves my Speed Warrior, and allows me to summon Stardust Dragon!
Sherry: Nnngh... <19:00> (then she looks ahead) Ah!
(A truck crashes through the side of the freeway over the dueling track ahead, falling straight toward Sherry.)
Yusei and Akiza: Watch out!!
ACT 4 <19:03>
(The large truck that just crashed through the side of the freeway that passes over the duel track keeps falling toward Sherry.)
Akiza: Oh no!
Yusei: Sherry!
Sherry: Ugh!!
(Standing on the edge of the freeway watching are the guy who saw Yusei kidnapped and his three masked thugs. The former speaks.)
- Hello again! I *told* you I wasn't a well-balanced person, and that it would *not be smart* to mess around with *me*! Hahahahaha!
(Sherry glares up at him, furious and even slightly afraid. Yusei looks worried. Akiza leans over to speak to him.)
Akiza: Leave this to me! Gimme!
(Without waiting for permission, she grabs Stardust Dragon out of his hand.)
Yusei: Whoa, hang on, what're you doing, we need to--
Akiza: I'm gonna summon this monster!
Yusei: *What*?!
Akiza (thinks): This is the only way...!
(She takes a moment more, gathering herself, then--)
Akiza: Come forth, Stardust Dragon!!
[Stardust Dragon 2500/2000/L8/wind]
(Stardust takes the sky, roaring, and soars toward the falling truck. Sherry winces, preparing to be crushed, but Stardust swoops in above her head and catches the truck on its back, shielding her-- that monster is no hologram. Sherry races past underneath.)
Sherry: You are a *psychic duelist*?!
(Stardust lets the truck fall onto the track, now that the danger has passed. Both runner screens show X's and caution signs.)
Computer: Emergency. Duel mode disengaged.
(Yusei groans with frustration; Sherry looks equally annoyed. Probably due to the track damage, their duel has been remotely shut down by New Domino's turbo-duel safety measures.)
(Up on the freeway, the kidnapper and his thugs turn to make an exit.)
- Drat!
(Then they discover that they aren't alone up there. Ellsworth is blocking their path-- and he looks mad. One of them says to him--)
- Move it! <20:00>
(In response, Ellsworth cracks his knuckles. The thugs cling to their boss, terrified; the kidnapper himself is biting his lips together.)
Ellsworth: Hmph. Oh *I'll move it*, all right!
(And all four of them get soundly knocked out. Ellsworth calmly straightens his bowtie and walks over to the edge. Sherry and Yusei are halted down on the track below. Ellsworth turns and walks away.)
(Down on the track...)
Yusei: Sherry, are you okay?
Sherry: I am... thanks to you-- *friend*. Huh?
(Another runner joins them on the track. Ellsworth's duel runner looks like the very mechanical embodiment of the office of butler.)
Sherry: Did you take care of those thugs, Ellsworth?
Ellsworth: But of course... So, this is Yusei.
(He takes a moment to scrutinize this new acquaintance.)
Ellsworth: A pleasure to finally meet you.
Sherry (taunting): *Well*, Yusei Fudo. Had our duel continued on its proper course...
(Vision. The duel plays out as Sherry describes.)
Sherry (VO): I imagine Stardust Dragon would have vanquished Sacred Knight Jeanne, and zen Speed Warrior would have attacked me, directly.
(Speed Warrior attacks, and her lifepoints fall-- to 50. End vision.)
Sherry: But zat would have left me with fifty lifepoints, and *another* opportunity to defeat you.
Yusei: Yup; that's right. And so the whole thing would've come down to your next draw.
Sherry: Hm! <21:00>
(She goes to draw the card in question, then pauses, and throws him a salute instead.)
Sherry: I *won't* draw. Perhaps on *another* day. There is a long road ahead, mon ami. (She revs her engine.) Until next time, Yusei Fudo-- (to Akiza) and you. I am in your debt.
(Akiza, standing next to Yusei and his runner with her helmet under one arm, reacts with surprise. Sherry smiles.)
Sherry: I hope to ride against you one day. Or *with* you!
(She winks. Akiza gasps out loud, entirely offbalanced.)
Sherry: Au revoir, et salud! (Goodbye, and be well!)
(She rides away, Ellsworth following. Akiza watches her go.)
Akiza (think): That duel was *incredible*! I want more. I want to be a part of what they're already a part of. I wanna become a turbo-duelist...!
(And there stand Akiza and Yusei-- Yusei on his runner, Akiza standing to one side with her helmet under one arm, watching Sherry and Ellsworth ride away. The breeze brushes the track in front of them, and the truck that crashed into the track is in flames and billowing smoke a distance behind. Yusei climbs off his runner and removes his helmet, still watching them go.)
Yusei (think): That Sherry got me thinking...
(Flashback.)
FB Sherry: Tell me, Yusei Fudo-- what *is it* you are dueling for?!
(End Flashback.)
Yusei (think): What *am I* dueling for? I think it's time I try and find out!
